You can refer to the IIT JEE OMR sheet 2008 pattern here for your reference as well as for practice. Getting to know the pattern before your IIT JEE will help you immensely as IIT uses a complex OMR pattern for their entrance exam answer sheets. Moreover, solving previous years' answer papers would test your knowledge and help you to know where you stand. Let us take a look at the different patterns or formats of IIT JEE (Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination).

Matrix type questions: A matrix of bubbles is used in IIT OMR sheets when there are several sections for one single question. There would be four to five rows with four to five options in one matrix. It is useful when the question is related to some passage comprehension or when the students have to answer by matching the columns.

MCQ type: MCQ or multiple choice questions are commonly used in OMR test papers. In MCQ type answers, you will find four options (ABCD) for each question. In case of IIT entrance exams, students may have to mark more than one option to earn full marks for the question. It is important to read the question well before answering.

Integer type: The integer type bubbles are useful when the answer to the question is numerical. It is mostly used for mathematics section of the paper. Instead of four or five options, students are provided with at least ten options. For instance, you would find one column that has ten rows of digits (from 0 to 9) if the answer is a one digit number. In case the answer is a two digit number, there would be two columns with ten rows, providing 99 possibilities to the students.

The OMR sheet of IIT 2008 includes all these patterns. You can download the sheets here for practice purposes.
