Tearing of OMR Answer Sheet

It is extremely important to keep the OMR Sheets in good condition if you want to achieve accurate results after OMR sheet reading. Hence, you have to make sure that there are no tears anywhere on the paper. However, in some circumstances, you have to tear a part of the OMR sheets. There are some precautions that you have to take in such cases. Let us take a look at them.

• If you have to take a counterfoil or acknowledgement sheet from the OMR Answer Sheet or form, always tear from the cutting line provided for this purpose.
• Sometimes, you may also see a perforated line just over the cutting line. The sheets should be torn at this place only.
• If a sheet has to be detached from the booklet, one should tear it off from the perforated line only.
• It is important to make sure that the perforated line is of good quality. The printers have to consider this while printing the perforated line.

Follow these rules while tearing the OMR sheets to ensure that no damages are done to the OMR sheets. Although the OMR Software is not concerned by minor tears on the edges of the OMR sheet, it is best to keep these sheets intact.
